Saimaan Jousi
Saimaan Jousi is an archery club based in Lappeenranta. The club was founded in 1976 by Ilkka Kemppinen, Tapio Riikonen, Kari Nykänen, Seppo Matilainen ja Markku Rissanen.
Archery is very versatile sport and fits everyone regardless of gender or physical strength. There is no starting late with archery as the sport is more about technique than strength and there is no upper age limit for starting. However, we do advice a minimum age limit of 10 for younger archers.
Joining
Try-Out Nights
Try-out Nights are a chance for you to test out archery. During the night you'll be introduced to archery's basic technique and equipment by one or two of our members.
The try-out costs 5€ per person.
They will be advertised on our Facebook page but do not hesitate to message if you're interested.
Ensinuoli-course
Ensinuoli-course is a beginner course for those who are getting into the sport. The course includes six 2-hour lessons, 12 hours in total, and the membership for the rest of the year. The aim is to teach strong basic skills and technique from which new archers can improve.
The course costs 100€ per person.
Membership
To shoot on your own at the club's venues, you must have a membership. Ensinuoli-course includes the membership for the rest of the year. In other cases you need to purchase it individually.

Training venues
Winter (September-May)
During the winter we use our indoor range at the Lappeenranta Sports Centre (Pohjolankatu 29, 53100) We share the space with a shooting club, Etelä-Saimaan ampujat.
Shooting range is available to Saijo's members on
Tuesday & Thursday: 7:00 - 21:00
Saturday: 10:00 - 13:45
Sunday: 14:00-18:00
The use of the indoor shooting range costs 1,50€ for members and 5€ for non-members. Do note that non-members can only use the range while in the presence of a member!
Summer
For summer use we have an outdoor shooting range in Muukko. The address is Muukonkankaantie 260, 53400.
Equipment
The club has shared archery equipment that is free to use by club members. This equipment is also used durign the try-outs and the Ensinuoli-course.
